A Son's Portrait

A rich man was living in a particular city. Since he had only one son, he pampered him too much.

One day, his son died unexpectedly and the father was heart-broken. Unable to endure the shock of his son’s death, the father too embraced death before long. But nobody knew to whom he entrusted his will. Unable to trace the details about his property, the government decided to auction his big bungalowKingdom Principles of Financial Increase.

During the bid, many people purchased the dead man’s belongings found in his rooms. At last, they found his son’s portrait in his room. When the auctioneers inquired whether anyone was willing to possess it, the heart of his nurse was moved. She thought, “Will I ever get the privilege to possess the portrait of my master’s son whom I brought up?” She pleaded with the auctioneers to give it to her. When they auctioned it, they asked her to buy it.

When she took hold of the portrait, something fell down from it. That was the rich man’s will, which everybody was searching for. It was written in the will that “Whoever buys my son’s portrait, will inherit all my properties.” Amazingly, the rich man’s inheritance came to the poor lady.

Similarly God the Father says, “Whoever comes in search of my Son Jesus and honours Him, to him will I give all His inheritance.” We are not ordinary people but a royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:9). And we are not foreigners and strangers, but the household of God (Ephesians 2:19). This inheritance enables us to do the things which Jesus did in this world and we will be co-heirs with Christ. So let us dwell together in unity with the brethren to acquire it. Then God will bestow His love, anointing, blessings and life on us enabling us to experience the reward of inheritance.

The Bible says, “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also give us all things?” (Romans 8:32). Since God has delivered His own son for us, it is certain that He would grant us all the worldly needs and bless us.
